Oregon Air National Guard F-15 Eagle Jet Fighter Flyovers
The Oregon Air National Guard, which has been an integral part of the nation’s air defense since 1941, will salute America’s fallen heroes and veterans with flyovers for various ceremonies at locations throughout Oregon
and Southwest Washington. It should be a spectacular sight if the weather holds up as the planes fly 1,000 feet above ground level and 350 knots airspeed. If the weather is bad, or if the planes have operational problems, times could be changed, or flights could be cancelled, so hopefully all will go well.
Two F-15 Eagle jet fighters from the 142nd Fighter Wing, which maintains continuous alert with F-15’s from Portland as part of the Western Air Defense System, will depart the Portland Air Base. One jet will fly over community events in Portland and the other will cover outlying areas and Southwest WA at the following times and locations:
Monday , May 28
10:00 Oregon City Mountain View Cemetery
10:03 Gresham Heroes Memorial
10:10 Willamette National Cemetery
