Fantastic news & Blog Recommendations!

winner.jpgI entered a contest on Debbie’s Arlington, TX blog and guess what … I won!!!!

Debbie sent me the email earlier tonight and I literally said: “Yay! I never win ANYTHING!” aloud … to no one … in my empty apartment … then I laughed and told Debbie … then I laughed and told you all. I might officially be a geek!

So yeah, I won a Maren Morris CD from her give-away and I’m thrilled to be able to hear the whole thing. Even though country music doesn’t seem to be a huge Portland genre, it’s something I grew up listening to (old school The Judds anyone? …Mama, he’s crazy … crazy over me … anyone?) and so I frequently find myself drawn to it now. I love to listen to it after a few beers … I think it’s the born-and-raised-in-Southern-Oregon part of me.

Oh, and since at least one of is wondering “why does she read the About Arlington, TX blog?” it’s because the 451Press network encourages becoming friends with our coworkers and reading their blogs is something I try to do every now and again. I stumbled upon Debbie’s blog at a perfect time apparently!

Other 451Press blogs I try to regularly read include:
Dating Outlook - I wrote for this site for a while, but don’t date hardly enough to write anything of substance, so I’ve been following Sandy & G’s adventure instead.

Wedding Tactics - I don’t read Stacy’s blog for wedding advice, I’m not even really dating, but I consider Stacy a friend of mine and so I try to stay caught up on her tips!

About Seattle, WA - living in Portland, being so close to Seattle, why wouldn’t I read Kyla’s insight on her city?

Life Tips Daily - Jummy writes about tips for life … and he once told me that I was pretty. He has a follower for life now!

Depression Talk Online - Amanda has been on a break for a while (I do hope she comes back) but reading about hear daily struggles with depression gives me the feeling that I’m really not alone.

Eating Disorder Talk Online - Terra and I are friends … we talk about everything … and so I read her blog to help her hit counts.

You should check out some of those other 451Press blogs if you get a chance - Portlanders always need something new to read, right?

About Portland, OR

There are a lot of misconceptions about Portland, Oregon. We are not all communists, we are not all hippies, and many of the females do in fact shave. Portland is a vibrant, progressive community that balances the native with the newcomer, the eco-minded with the lumber industry, and the natural with the urban. About Portland, OR is a home for all the contradictions.
